MWRT – July 2025: On to Wyandotte O

Indigo Sky Casino
Today I crossed over the state of Oklahoma from south central to north east on the way to Wyandotte where I arrived at the Indigo Sky Casino near Seneca Oklahoma. The scenery was beautiful along the drive as the terrain changed from fields of hay under blue skies to the trees growing tall near the Neosho river valley.
After about a 5 hour drive, I pulled into the casino parking lot and prepared to hit the Blackjack tables. Well, table, this place had only two tables with Blackjack. There were two more tables with a game I’d never seen before called “Double Blackjack”. I was curious so I walked up to the table where two gentlemen were playing. These guys were obviously regulars at this game as the dealer was referring to them in a kidding manner. The dealer invited me to sit down an observe how the game was played. for a few hands and proceeded to explain how it differed.
Supposedly, you can do a side bet on your first two cards against the dealer up card by doubling your initial bet. The first round came out and the guy at third base caught a 19 v a dealer 6, and doubled down. He won the bet and the dealer exclaimed, “see how it always works”. Second round same thing with the guy at first base! The dealer was really yucking it up about how it was so easy! The trick to the game though, is a dealer 16 (worst hand in blackjack), results in nullifying the hand completely. Those casinos are really greedy!
I chose to go to the normal BJ 6 deck table to play and had a good two hour session. The table limits were $5 min and $100 max. I played two spots with a two or three other players who were learning the game. The dealers were really friendly and liked to joke around. At one point one of the young guys had to buy in for more chips and he gave the dealer a wad of one dollar bills. The dealer, a older gal who had been cracking wise the whole time gingerly picked up the bills and hollered to the pit, “Ass Crack money coming in”! I about fell off my chair. She was pretty bold with her commentary.
Only problem, this made the game go by very slowly. Well, I still ended the session up a few hundred and decided to go check into my Econo Lodge, $65 a night hotel room and get a little rest after a long day. I went back for a short session later in the evening and then called it a night to get some good rest hoping my back would feel better in the morning. It’s been bothering me ever since last Monday when were were lifting a heavy ramp at one of the Golfer for Others home repair projects. Thats another story.
Stay strong good buddy! I love reading your regular trek journaling!
